Needle Felting: Witch

Good afternoon my lovelies! Now in my last Crafty Corner post I said that I would show you some of the things that I have been felting - so here it goes!

This is a witch that I felted and shes kneeling over her cauldron :) I know that it's Halloween themed, but better late than never eh? She was the my first big felting project so of course she isn't going to be perfect but that's what this is all about, I want to share my progress with you.

I got the inspiration for this witch when I was looking around Pintrest for ideas and I took parts of all the ones I liked and came up with this. I'm really proud of her as she actually looks like I wanted her to.

Here are some more pictures of the witch...

To make her body I used lamb batting that I bought at a Sussex Guild show, i really like to base felt with batting because I find that the spongy texture allows me to manipulate the shapes that I want. As the fibers are all going in different directions in batting it retains a spongy and fuller shape - well it does for me anyway.

I used wool tops for her dress and hair, however the top that I used for my hair was merino wool mixed with silk so it gave a sleeker and more delicate look which was exactly what I wanted.

I'll be making more witches soon and hope to make a green one next, it will be a step-by-step tutorial, so stay tuned if you would like to see that!

Make sure to let me know if you like this and if you want to see more!

Bye for now :)
